Scarbringer Savages 1-2 No Talent Allstars

Defending champion No Talent Allstars opened up their 2007 campaign against quarter finalists, the Scarbringer Savages. The Savages have had a pretty decent record against the Stars over the years and an epic 3-3 draw in this fixture last year showed how closely the two teams were matched. The Allstars however have not lost since the 2005 wildcard round.

The Savages started out strong, punching in their opening drive with a screen pass to Lobo La'Grange, the Catcher scoring to set the tone of the game. The physical game was equally explosive with casualties on both sides and it nearly disrupted the Allstars response. Vargash K'Narog managed to put a lick on Svetlana Domina but the skill players on the defending champions were able to recover and eventually limp over the line through Eiowol Talinne. A Savages drive at the end of the half came to nothing thanks to poor handling and even poorer footing.

The second half turned into more of a grinding battle of wills between the sides, a battle that saw the visitors coming out on top. First Sirius, then K'Narog were blocked out of the game though some decent Healing kept something of a defence together. It was not enough of a barrier to prevent Svetlana Domina notching her first touchdown of the season. The score proved to be the decisive one, a pitch invasion impacted on the Savages and left their offence unable to crack open a wide enough hole for Morgrim Thunderfoot and the game petered out to a successful conclusion for the defending champion Allstars.

Thaleus Thunderarm and Grak Hedsplitta missed the game with niggling injuries.

Kaneris N'Gillthrog passed through the 50 SPP mark during the game. Svetlana Domina and Sirius both Fell for the 10th time. Jack Hour has been on the pitch for 500 Turns.
