The rubber match in the three-game series between ADF South rivals Revengers' Tragedy and the New England Patriot Missiles took place in the Wildcard Round. The Missiles had taken the first game between the sides this season but the defending champion Tragedy had triumped in the rematch at home. This was the second straight post-season for the Missiles franchise, having defeated the No Talent Allstars in the 2005 Wildcard Round.
Games between the sides are typically fast and furious and the opening to this fixture suggested more of the same. The start was a little too quick by Luke who jumped the gun a little at the kickoff and was sent off by experienced referee Uriah Runner for the illegal block. That setback was not enough to halt the Tragedy offence though especially once Drexl slipped over somewhat suspiciously without contact. A long bomb from Tor found Penn in the endzone for a rapid fire score. Characteristically the Missiles fired right back. The tried and tested combination of Goale Ong passing to Johnny Danger levelling the game. The pace did not relent - Tor again turning the kickoff into a touchdown with Kyle this time the receiver able to burst free. A breathless first half ended with Goale Ong forcing a ball into coverage and the half ending on an interception by Penn.
Offence was still on top when the players came out for the second period. Goale Ong and Johnny Danger again linking up for a score followed immediately by a reply from Kyle via Tor. The scoring list came to an end at that point. A pitch invasion levelled Quagmire Giggity and perhaps that distracted the visitors. Ong was again on target but Johnny Danger could not take it in thanks to a last ditch tackle by Penn. Despite some more long ball play, neither side again threatened and the game ended with a 3-2 victory for Revengers' Tragedy who advance to the Quarter Finals to take on the Tempo Ray Mutineers.
Goale Ong exceeded 200 career rushing yards during the game. Johnny Danger now has 100 yards of reception in his career.
