Casus Belli 2-2 398 Legends

The second match for Casus Belli saw them host a 398 Legends side who lost out to Tabard Delight back in week one while coming off a draw against the Omaha Cornflakes themselves.

It was the Legends who started by far the fastest. Belli received but were unable to make any headway at all, Amazon Thrower Metelli being unable to slip a tackle deep in the Belli half, and coughing up the ball for Gene Krupa to run it in. Despite the setback, Belli heads did not drop. A more effective, grinding drive took the ball all the way downfield despite an early blip where ball control was lost momentarily. Skaven Blitzer Caecilius was able to recover possession and move the ball with good support protecting him until he was within range to strike and score to cap off a clock-eating drive that prevented a comeback in the half from the Legends.

The second half was an even contest, the Legends making a prolonged drive of their own despite a couple of tackles from the defenders. Eventually it was Norse Lineman Ginger Baker who crossed the line for the score, having taken a pass from Harvey Mason. Despite taking over half of the second period off the clock, the Legends had left enough time for Belli to make another comeback. Again it was Caecilius who took the ball to the house, showing decent dodging but never in serious jeopardy as he ran it in for his own, and his team's second score to wrap the game up at 2-2.
