A capacity crowd with 18,000 turned away at Legends Stadium graced the opening match in the ADA South. The smart money pre-season had been on Delight having lured away KoPite MuGaz head coach Hydemonster. With both teams brand new to the league though, there was no doubt that this was a match being watched closely around the league. Comprising entirely of new players, the form of either side was entirely unknown.
The match was close and the Legends were within touching distance of scoring on their opening drive but found themselves unable to breach the Delight defence. Indeed, it was only right at the very end of the game that the Legends finally made their way into the end zone thanks to an inspired Long Bomb from Roger Taylor ending a play that took the ball nearly the length of the field. Delight's first TD was a breakaway score aided by a crucial slip from the Legends last line of defence, while their second was a confident thrust from kickoff reception to goal line.
