Casus Belli 1-1 Omaha Cornflakes

Mist fell across Ancient Rome as just 34,000 fans showed up to see the first ever match for both Casus Belli and the Omaha Cornflakes.With absolutely no previous form to go on, pundits were at a loss to predict how the match might go though some did favour the Cornflakes as Belli only entered the league at the last minute following the purchase of the Gadfathers by the Boxer Rebellion that freed up an ADA South position.

The first half went the way of the home side despite a very slow build to their drive. Initially struggling to get out of their own half, the Cornflakes began flooding forward to tackle the ball carrier, and eliminate Belli Kroxigor Maximus through a block from Treeman Honda Accord. It looked as though the Cornflakes would be able to push forward but from a crowd, Lineman Spurius launched a beautiful pass to the only Dryad in the league, Cicero. The Flakes had left nothing back and Cicero had a free backfield to run through and open the scoring. The touchdown was the cue for some trouble in the crowd as scuffles broke out that wiped out much of the rest of the half, preventing a response from the Cornflakes.

The Cornflakes showed some touches of class to open the second half as they scored a rapid-fire TD through Ghoul Gillette SensorExcel Plus who was set up by Wardancer Fiat Panda. The attack completely blew past the Belli defence, and they offered little resistance to the equaliser. The home side also struggled with their next drive, not able to move the ball downfield, they were bogged down by the Cornflakes aggressive defence. They were able to consolidate though and hung onto the ball for long enough to prevent a second score by the visitors and end the match at 1-1.
