Langdon Christ-Punchers 1-1 Team Stupidity

Week 4: 14/10/06

A second consecutive home match for the Punchers saw Team Stupidity take to the road, visiting what had been the pre-season favourite side in the ADF East. The Punchers were in need of their surprise win against the New England Patriot Missiles in week three just to keep pace in the Conference with the Hotspur Hacks that currently lead the way.

The Punchers looked to be on top in the game against what has been a brutal Stupidity side so far this season when they were able to turnover a slow-building drive at halfway and turn it into a touchdown almost immediately for Gutter Runner Yussef. Despite the score, the home team seemed to lose all their fight when a hit off the ball from Black Orc Woo Woo "The Pain Train" punished Norse Blitzer Daisy for watching the score with a massive block. The medical team worked long and hard to successfully revive Daisy but from then on the Punchers appeared to have no more stomach for the fight.

The second half was a battle of two divergent purposes. The Punchers were apparently keen to show off their ball-handling skills in front of the home faithful while Team Stupidity attempted to track down and hurt any players they were able to lay hands on. The Punchers found themselves moving backwards in the effort to avoid Stupidity's pounding approach and they were eventually undone by a little Razzle Dazzle that turned the ball over for Blitzer Pedwino Girlie-Man to register the equaliser and end the game as a draw.

Learned Hand now holds the single season record for most completions, despite this being only game four of the 2006 season. The Punchers managed a mere 2 yards of rushing in the game, while Stupidity only accounted for 18 yards on the ground.
