51,000 fans again arrived at Panzer Stadium to see the cross-conference match between The Panzerbourne of the ADF South and the Bomb Squad of the ADF North. The Bomb Squad's previous record against the ADF South is a loss in 2005 to the Arkasha Principals while the Panzerbourne lost heavily to the Revenue Stealers of the ADF North last season. Previous form for both clubs was good, with the Panzers having drawn creditably against defending champion Revengers' Tragedy while the Bomb Squad picked up a win against their Conference champions, the Revenue Stealers.
The game began at pace, both sides looking to launch long balls and looking to capitalise on early turnovers in the drizzle to set runners free until eventually the player that found space for the opening score was Seef-Orr who recorded his fourth score of the season by picking up a loose ball in the home side's territory and evading a couple of tacklers to reach the end zone. The frenetic scoring efforts were not the main feature of the opening drive though. The Bomb Squad inflicted three casualties on their supposedly physically stronger foe including Dark Elf Lineman Legoland who required medical attention after the game to enable him to recover from a shot by Rat Ogre Tiny.
After the blistering opening start, the game fell away somewhat. Neither side penetrated their opponent's lines with any conviction with the home side dominating possession but not being able to make any ground until a late break from Wood Elf Catcher Monty was ended by a tackle from Seef-Orr and the meaningful action was at an end in a near stalemate game that the Bomb Squad had narrowly won 1-0. The game tallied a mere 16 total yards on the ground.
Bubba Ho-Tep of the Panzers missed the game due to a niggling injury. Spooky missed the match due to picking up a black eye and has a 50% chance of making the next fixture, against the PAIN Corp.
Seef-Orr's touchdown run took him past 100 career rushing yards. Michael Howard of the Panzers now has in excess of 100 career blocks.
