Tension was inevitable in the much anticipated quarter final clash between the Mutineers and the Tragedy. The ADA East champion Mutineers hosted the team that had knocked them out in the 2005 semi finals en route to the title. The Tragedy had already overcome ADF South rivals the Missiles in the Wildcard Round. The Mutineers head coach had been Kidnapped prior to the game and this had undoubtedly raised the stakes even higher. Scuffles in the crowd held up the start of the game as fans from both sides clashed.
When the game got underway, it was the Mutineers on the attack with a slow and steady drive. It was a drive that was nearly halted midway through but the visitors were unable to make the post of their tackle and a touchdown from Joanie Brawler capped the march with a score at the end of the first period. The Tragedy responded in kind shortly into the second half. An initial drive was briefly interrupted by a tackle but Holden Webster was able to take up the loose ball and turn it in for the equalising score.
The remainder of the half was ball control on the part of the Mutineers. The drive stalled on the right hand side just behind the line of scrimmage as the defence held still. The ADA East side were unable to penetrate the defenders and it looked as though time would run out. Eventually though Gunnar Gunnarsson was the player who made the crucial breakthrough, moving with the Speed of Light, he was able to make a surprise burst downfield that Landok's desperate attempt to catch could not hold back and it was a winning score for the Mutineers who advance to the semi finals.
Fester Rustblade missed the game as a result of a niggling injury.
Tor reached a number of career milestones including 50 SPPs, 50 Rushing Attempts, 50 Passing Attempts, and 50 Post-Season Passing Yards. Landok also reached 50 SPPs during the game. Sunday recorded her 100th career Block. Toxix and Zzharg Zzhargson have now been involved in 500 Turns in his career.
