Coming off a bad loss to the Punchers, the New England Patriot Missiles looked to rebound against a Panzerbourne side that suffered an equally disappointing result against the Bomb Squad in week three. Last season, the Panzers had the edge against their ADF South rivals, winning the corresponding fixture 3-2 at Linkor Phen.
The match began brutally, particularly for referee Mill Slain. He lived up to his name by being killed by Missiles fans as he marched the teams out for the opening kick-off. The Missiles themselves had to play without Skaven Blitzer Drexl who had been press-ganged by local sailors and did not return until the start of the second half. The game itself began sloppily with fumbles and players falling over being traded as the Missiles attempted to return the opening kick into Panzer territory. With both sides initially struggling, it was the visitors who managed to win the battle with Werewolf Linford scooping a loose ball up and taking it to the house for the go-ahead score. The ball remained around midfield during the next drive, as a mirror image appeared to be developing. This time though, the Missiles inflicted a blow by Badly Hurting two-time reigning Most Violent Player Mumraaah through a block from Lineman Paul Grey. It was the kicking team that scored again, with Missiles Catcher Johnny Danger finally grabbing the ball and running the length of the Panzer half for the equaliser as time expired in the first period.
Some half-time adjustments must have taken place including in the referees section where reserve ref Chris Fay was officially promoted to the full-time referee list to replace Mill Slain. The Panzers came out firing, throwing a trick play that completely dazzled the home team. Wood Elf Catcher Monty, the team's number one Krush pick this season finally repaying some of the club's faith by burning the defence for the Panzer's second score of the game. Despite boos from the home stands, the Missiles response was swift. A long bomb from passing lynchpin Goale Ong found Johnny Danger running through the Panzer half. Danger kept on and ran in for his second equaliser of the game. There was no further meaningful play though Chris Fay did manage to record his first sending off - Missiles Wardancer Billy Mahonie as the final act of the game.
Having started the season so well, the Missiles have now picked up one point from their last two while the Panzers can be happy with their performance and a second point on the season.
Johnny Danger has now recorded in excess of 50 career receiving yards.
