Tabard Delight 2-0 Casus Belli

Having had to wait until the 4th week of the season for their first ever home game, Tabard Delight welcomed Casus Belli having bounced back with a good win against the Wildmen following their defeat in week three to the Omaha Cornflakes. Casus Belli struggled against an inspired Fabienettes side during their cross-conference match but have picked up two draws in their two ADA South games to date.

The home team were in charge of the game from the moment they penetrated the Testudo formation that Belli have become known for. Playing a contain defence, they prevented any visitors from slipping through their lines and eventually bottled up the drive until they were able to turn the ball over with a series of tackles that stripped away the protectors from the ball. Delight ended the first half with a score through Lineman Dirk Van Hooschtenberger who caught an excellent long pass from fellow Lineman Cederic Meresmo to allow him to break into the end zone for his first career TD.

The second half opened well for Delight but the accuracy of their passing game was not quite in sync. First overall pick in their expansion Krush, Tristan Flyte, failed to connect with a receiver for the third time this season. The defence could not capitalise though and Dirk Van Hooschtenberger was on hand to run in the loose ball for his second score of the game to put the result effectively beyond doubt. There was very nearly another score in the game until a Stink Bomb from Flyte blew apart the Testudo, and a cumbersome blocking attempt ended Casus Belli's hopes of a consolation score.

The win puts Tabard Delight firmly back on top in the ADA South while Casus Belli will now struggle to make the post-season.
