A gentle breeze crossed Knightmare Castle for the visit of the surprise package in the ADF East, the Hotspur Hacks. The Hacks are currently perfect in ADF East matches, with their only dropped points being against the Arkasha Principals in a week three cross-conference game. The Panthers have fared less well, pointless and without registering a touchdown so far this season.
The game did not upset the form. The Hacks took the opening drive down their right flank after a violent kick-off and managed to get top scorer Scoop Sopwith into the endzone but he did not see the ball thanks to a fumble from Amazon Valentine Kelly that stalled the attack. The Panthers very nearly took advantage, moving the ball back upfield but a mis-communication saw the ball end up out of position and Bosco Barrachus found himself unable to shuffle pass the ball into a cage. Not spurning their second chance, the Hacks punished Barrachus with a badly hurting tackle from Aaron Edgar and this time a successful pass from High Elf Sparrow Keane to enable Sopwith to register his fifth score of the season. The Hacks continued their scoring dominance with a blitz on the next kickoff that rushed players downfield including Valentine Kelly who managed to collect the ball just before Skaven Thrower "The" Brain and dive over the line to record a second score before the break. While that action was taking place, Lineman Garside "The Great" stomped brutally on Goblin Quark, injuring him.
Surprisingly, Panthers heads did not drop and they responded on the other side of the half. Their first ever touchdown was scored by Gaius Balther their top pick in the expansion Krush. The High Elf Blitzer had taken the ball downfield only to be stalled by another hurtful tackle from Aaron Edgar. This time though, some brilliant healing work kept Balthar on the field and he was able to leap back up, collect the ball and run it in before the Hacks had managed to respond. The score led to some scuffles in the crowd but it was more of the same from the Hacks upon the restart. Scoop Sopwith ran freely downfield with Panthers defenders unable to keep up or even on their feet, leaving the Catcher to record his second and his team's third touchdown of the day. The Panthers were unable to respond despite the efforts of Gaius Balthar and crowd intervention that injured Lineman Hoban Washburne though they did prevent a last minute counter-attack thanks to a close-in interception from Orc Blitzer Vyvyan.
Quark will miss the Panthers upcoming fixture against the Punchers with a broken foot.
