Confusion reigned before kick-off as the Fabienettes took on the Mercenaries in bizarre circumstances. Mercenaries captain Alec von Tasslebine picked up an injury in practice and was ineligible for the game. More pecularliary, Mercenaries head coach NightOfDarkness was not present. For the first time in league history a team took the field without their head coach. It is unclear exactly what happened but the replacement coach was clearly under-qualified as the away side romped to an easy 4-0 victory.

The Fabienettes were ruthless in their approach, rampaging down the field for an early score. Wogwog the Orc Thrower took possession but to complete a pass. The Mercenaries response was non-existant. The players were clearly rattled and simply stood like statues as the game went on around them. Fabienettes Dwarf "3 inch" Wonder raced away from the pack, collected the ball and handed off to the waiting Bob "The Hair" with the Norseman standing in the end zone for an easy score.

The lack of the regular head coach and the abject failure of the home side to do anything against the Fabienettes first drive incensed the large crowd at The Wanderers. The longest riot of the season wiped out almost the entire remainder of the first half. If the Mercenaries team could not stop the Fabienettes, maybe the crowd could.

The Mercenaries appeared to put more effort in after the half-time break but were let down by a lack of talent. Dark Elf Peln'taro and Amazon Catcher Cre'atarin both tried to run the ball but were caught and tackled by Linemen Dave "The Paedo" and Homo Erectus respectively. Norse Lineman "Long" Pugh Bes took advantage with the ball still deep in Mercenaries territory, running in another easy score.

The home side just couldn't muster a genuine drive. Gutter Runner Splinter fielded the next kick-off but got just three yards down the field before being tackled by Fabienettes Wardancer Fabio. Lineman Homo Inferior was in position to take advantage with yet another easy score. If it hadn't been for the riot, a record score would be on the cards. As it was, the final score was 4-0. The Mercenaries couldn't clear their lines again and Orc Thrower WogWog took the glory with the concluding score of a resounding trimuph for the Fabienettes.
