Surprise package, the Hotpur Hacks made their post-season bow having won the ADF East. Their opponents were the winningest team in history, the KoPite MuGaz. The Mugaz made it through as wildcard and knocked out Tabard Delight in the wildcard round.
The game opened with scuffles in the crowd prior to the Hacks first drive. The offensive push was not especially strong, the Mugaz able to stop the rush and turn the ball over early. The visitors were not able to do a great deal with it themselves though, and made limited inroads. The Mugaz were able to make an impact on the Hacks receiving core, inflicting Casualties against both Scoop Sopwith and Valentine Kelly but were not able to punch the ball home. The half ended at 0-0 with everything still to play for.
The superior experience of the Mugaz players began to tell in the second period. The Hacks defence was not able to hold the visitors back and a pass from Arda set Salogel Litefoot free to break the deadlock midway through the second period. Lacking some of their key offensive weapons, the Hacks could not break the Mugaz down and turned the ball over again. A long bomb from Edorath capitalised on the turnover to allow David Irving to seal the victory.
