The ADA East season opened up with the match between a Fabienettes side that has finished last in the Conference for two consecutive seasons against a Dolts side that narrowly missed out on a post-season position during 2005. The Dolts boast the 2005 Player of the Year in their ranks in the form of Salina Black and much will be resting on her shoulders to carry the side back to the position they reached in 2004.
The Dolts start to the season was a winning one even if it was not especially comfortable against a side that they have done well against in recent times. A pair of touchdowns from Salina Black were enough for the victory though a late score by Fabienettes star man Fabio did raise the tension slightly. The Dolts were clearly a little rusty with handling errors abounding, while the Fabienettes found it difficult to retain their shape but did have the advantage of great power up front with the past two season's first round Krush picks Birchy Feathernest and "Ugly" Daz throwing their weight around. The match featured a lot of blocking, with 110 combined blocks thrown though the knockdown ratio was not especially impressive.
During the game, Salina Black moved through 50 all-time rushing attempts. Tylana Sureflight exceeded 100 rushing yards and 100 passing yards in his career. Snurg "The Great" is the 9th player to record 100 career knockdowns. Fabio is now the first player to record 20 career tackles.
