The first league appearance for the DREAM Team and the Argonauts was inevitably going to be something of a feeling out process. With teams stacked full of rookies eager to make an impression, the unexpected was most certainly anticipated. As it was, both teams were somewhat cautious and keen not to get off to a losing start. An opening drive from Dream pushed slowly upfield and seemed to have stalled when an erroneous pass from Amani de Soleil missed it's target but the home team were able to recover and finally punched the score in at the very end of the half thanks to Robert Gadling who registered the Dream franchise's first score.
The Argonauts moved the ball to start the second period with a stretched passing game. The pass did not hit its target but Spindel Vex, a signing from the Allstars, showed his desire to prove the doubters from his former team wrong by recovering his own drop to slide in for the equalising score. That touchdown was the last action of the game, excited fans held up the remainder of the match and it ended 1-1.
