- 2007: The Darkstalkers struggle badly in 2007. The team wins just a single game all season and finishes bottom of the Conference for the first time since 2003. Key player deaths contribute to the difficulties and the team finds itself with a significant rebuilding need.
- 2006: The Darkstalkers tread water during 2006, finishing in a similar position to 2005 and again going out in the Wildcard Round. This time though, the post-season loss leaves a cloud over the franchise as they are unable to fulfil their fixture against the Scarbringer Savages and with a future seemingly in the balance.
- 2005: A second season under the stewardship of The Messiah proves to be a profitable one, with the franchise finishing second in the Conference for the first time and qualifying for the post-season where they lose in the Wildcard Round to the Junior Wildmen. The side set new franchise standards for scoring and not conceeding, and look to be developing the franchise into a credible threat.
- 2004: The Darkstalkers make a reasonable improvement to mid-table under new head coach The Messiah. A change of emphasis towards trying to win helps improve the team's chances as does the beginning of a turnover of players away from those that had failed under The Mercenaries. The team lose captain Alec von Tasslebine who is killed against Revengers' Tragedy and it forces a switch to more physical tactics that bring some reward and a couple of wins.
- 2003: The team proves a spectacular failure during the innaugural league season. They do not win a single match and the tactics of Head Coach NightOfDarkness are questioned by anyone sober in attendance. The franchise goes bankrupt and they are forced to accept a hostile takeover by a consortium of ex-Blood Bowl players from the accession states of the Old World Union. The consortium renames the team The Darkstalkers in honour of a short-lived but brutal team from the 1990s and moves the franchise to a new ground at The War Saw.
- 2002: The Mercenaries are invited into the AD Blood Bowl League. The cartel running the league are eager to capitalise on the unpredicability of the team to boost attendances and to have a genuine opportunity to win an over-sized cuddly toy.
- 1995: Despite never competing in any official league, The Mercenaries prove popular across the Old World. A motley following of drop-outs and vagabonds supports them by bringing a carnival-like atmosphere wherever they go. This increases their mystique and also their coffers as locals everywhere are conned into parting hard earned cash for a chance to toss a ring.
- 1970: A financial crisis among the travelling population leads to a decline in the regularity of The Mercenaries appearances. The desperate times call for a desperate solution and a Blood Bowl team is formed. They play only exhibition matches as they can never fulfil all their fixtures before being moved along by the local law enforcement.
- 1900: The Mercenaries are a well-known fixture throughout the Old World, turning up un-invited to national celebrations, local events and places of mourning to spread their gospel of debauchery. Wherever they travel, they set up camp and descend en mass to the alarm of the local citizenry who in turn find themselves forced to foot and hefty cleaning bill. Every instance of The Mercenaries is recorded alongside tales of gambling, fighting and the pestering of local womenfolk.
